Ducks at the Farm
🦆 The Duck Stewardship Project Meet Fox, Trot, and Tango. They’re Indian Runner ducks, which is why they stand up like that. Starting October 15, they’ll be in the care of a group of kids.
It’s a six-week hands-on unit inside our Homeschool Days, built with The Little Green Schoolhouse. Not a petting zoo visit. Real jobs. Water Keeper, Feed Keeper, Habitat Helper, Flock Observer, Garden Detective, Journal Keeper.
They’ll figure out why a duck is built like that, trace their feed back to the soil it grew in, work out whether ducks can earn their keep on a farm, and spend one whole week on poop and why it matters. By the last day they’ll have written the flock’s winter care plan themselves.
